Bloodroot isn’t callous. Fae's just practical. When King Silva appeared to fae asking if the Wildclaw wanted to join faer Court, the dragon weighed the value of faer liberty compared with immortality and chose the latter as faer prize. Fae's come to have a deep appreciation for death ever since fae became permanently deprived of ever experiencing it. Fae has accepted it as natural and necessary for life to continue in Sornieth. Fae understands that faer identity as an all-powerful immortal being makes faer stance on death slightly hypocritical, but the world’s full of contradictions and Bloodroot isn’t one to push against anything that doesn’t make sense. All fae knows is that fae was nothing before becoming Silva’s executioner and now fae holds the lives of defectors in faer capable claws. Fae is justice. Fae is the final pillar between this life and the next. And honestly, fae can’t think of anyone better suited for the job.

Charmeine is constantly telling faer mate that fae has some kind of a god complex. Bloodroot knows fae's probably right but fae'd prefer to live in faer bubble of grandeur than to face the reality of faer situation. King Silva owns faer subjects and the executioner is just a pawn in faer world of living puppets. Bloodroot likes to think of faeself as important because fae knows that fae has made himself expendable. Silva can replace faer Court in the blink of an eye. The executioner knows this better than anyone. Therefore, Bloodroot is going to make certain that fae never crosses faer leader, lest the Fae decide to destroy the dragon that acts as faer arm of destruction. |
