NO REASONS LEFT

There was a time, when Rajin was the Leader of his Clan. Days full of hard work and hard decisions. But at the same time also full of laughter, love and friendship. He was a courageous dragon, brimming with the determination to make his Clan strong, a place where everyone feels protected and loved.

Everyone loved him and the hatchlings looked up to him. He played with them, whenever he found the time to do so. In the beautiful Imperial Lady Mei, he found his mate. She was sweet and always supported him in the best way she was able to. They were eagerly expecting their first nest to hatch.

But it shouldn't come that far.
Lately there had been lot of reports of Beastclans attacking smaller Lairs and while his also still wasn't the biggest one, everyone felt save enough to not worry about that too much. And it cost them their lifes.

Waking up, barely able to move, felt like a nightmare first, but Rajin realized soon, that it wasn't. And Mei wasn't there, normally the blue-scaled female always managed to drape herself all over him while sleeping, but there was no Mei and the feeling, that something was awfully wrong grew stronger. He couldn't sense her presence, the bond between them was broken and with every second he just layed there unable to move the fear grew.

After what seems like hours, he was able to move again. Groggily he'd head out of the cave. He'll never forget the devastating sight, that welcomed him. Dead body was layed next to dead body building a cruel parody of a path leading down to the gift prepared only for him.
Even in death his mate wouldn't let go of the small eggs, that meant the world to their parents.

He didn't bare to take a look at them, as he sensed no life signs. Serthis poison is a horrible thing with many faces. It can take the life and leave horrendous marks all over the body, like it did with everyone else in the lair. But his beautiful Mei looked as if she would open her eyes any moment, smiling and jokingly asking, how long he'd planned to stand there like a statue.

But he knew she wouldn't. From one day to the other, everyone he loved and everything he lived for was gone. And they took the dragon he was with them and only left an empty shell.
