Are you alone where you are tonight?
I'm alone when you're right here But I'm still in you somehow I never left at all A reserved and unobtrusive dragon, Magpie prefers the company of animals to that of her kind. For this reason, she is notoriously reclusive and often only appears when summoned by someone important. She is considered Lacrimosa's primary informant, and her unique kinship with animals allows her to have eyes and ears all over Sornieth. Most clans and territories have at least one of Magpie's companions in their lands, each happily and promptly reporting back to the Skydancer as needed. It is often said that the quickest way to find Magpie is to ask the forest for her, as surely one of her little birds will relay the message. Her vibrant colouration is the only trait she shares with her namesake. In fact, she finds most corvids - crows, ravens, and magpies - to be crude and disrespectful, and prefers the company of less troublesome companions, especially chickadees and sparrows. She works tirelessly to maintain peace between the various neighboring clans and the beastclans that share their lands. The Dunhoof don't require much to remain on peaceful terms, but the Talonok are harder to placate. Fortunately, Magpie's appreciation of the feathered creatures that share her clan's lands extends to the Talonok as well. Not all of the Talonok are keen on treating with a dragon, but mutual respect maintains a tenuous peace. She is very soft-spoken, as her words are often little more than whispers and murmurs. This doesn't make her unreadable, however, as her feathers are quite expressive. Her maxillofacial feathers will flatten completely when nervous or anxious, or fan and flare when upset or angry. She smells faintly dusty and musky, with soft notes of her favourite treats, honeycomb and winterbelle. |
