"Where is the sense in these desperate dreams?"

Zagreus is a musician and composer as talented as he is unstable-- which is to say, very. Prone to alternating fits of mania and depression, at his best he is a whirlwind of creative energy, producing works of incredible beauty and emotion. At his worst, he locks himself in his rooms for days at a time, allowing no one to enter but his mate, Eumelia.

Zagreus came to the Collegium with Eumelia, and stayed because she did; he cares little where he is as long as she is there and he has food to eat and paper to write on. He teaches no official classes, but will occasionally accept an apprentice to study under him. For those with the patience and empathy to weather his changes in mood, he is an incredible teacher; for those without, the experience is frustrating, to say the least.

Still, his talent is undeniable. His frequent impromptu garden performances with Eumelia have driven many in the audience to laughter, or tears, or both. He views his own mercurial nature with a sort of wry acceptance, and on his more stable days approaches life with good humor and determination. His devotion to his mate is apparent to all who spend time around them, and those who win his friendship will have it for life.
