Biography
[ Andenken: German for souvenir, memory, keepsake, remembrance, memento, token... ]
You could say she had a problem. In Andenken's eyes, it was just that she could not, under any circumstances, let something go. From the time she was just a hatchling, she tried to have physical memories of everything. They mostly came in the form of notes and documents. Soon, her cave was filled with scrap paper and scattered memories she couldn't get herself to throw away. It didn't matter that some of her clanmates looked at her weird; It didn't matter that papers covered every inch of her cave wall, some telling of happy times, others of sadness. Andenken felt desperate to write everything down, all the time. She could often be found scribbling feverishly while trying to have a conversation (Despite her eccentricities, she really did try to reach out to people). She thought she would never know the feeling of "Normal." Then Roshta came into her life. She had met the Talonok while at the auction house, trying to buy some more parchment. Somehow-in a strange twist of fate-she had finally managed to make a real friend. He had been looking for a place to stay, anyway, and decided to come with her. The moment Roshta had stepped into Andenken's cave and saw the mess inside, he made a decision: He wanted to help her. That afternoon, Andenken did something she had never done before: She had taken a few papers-just a few-and threw them away. Little by little, her cave began to clear. Eventually, she had managed to organize her papers so that-although her cave was still plenty messy-had truly improved. Andenken began to feel closer to normal than ever before. Because now she didn't have to suffer by herself-for the first time in her life, she had someone to stick by her side. She had a friend. |
