Anafiel

Anafiel was a thief who had lost her way.

She was born without a clan. When she hatched, the only person she had was her mother. Every day, she would hunt and gather to keep Anafiel fed and happy. Life was difficult for her, but they scraped by.

Soon, Anafiel's mother fell terribly ill. Anafiel would go out and get food for them each day. But as she neared the end of her life, food wasn't enough. Anafiel snuck into nearby clans to steal medicine or clothes for her weak mother.

It wasn't long before her mother passed away. Alone and without guidance of a clan, Anafiel became a full-time thief. She didn't think her life was too bad. She stole, she sold her loot, she ate, and she slept. It was a simple life, in her eyes.

One day, everything changed when she came across a small clan in the forest. She snuck in during the night and searched through their hoard, hoping to find some clothes for herself now that winter was coming along.

Before she even had time to react, she was discovered and attacked by a furious pearlcatcher. She fought back as hard as she could, but she had the disadvantage of being caught off guard. It wasn't long before another dragon, a Skydancer, came and broke up the fight. Anafiel was dazed and fell unconscious while the other two began to bicker.

When she woke up, she was in a safe little alcove with bandages along her body. Across the room was the grey colored Skydancer from before. She was immediately suspicious and wanted to escape, but her injuries were too bad for her to make it out by herself.

The Skydancer, which she had learned was named Harlie, explained the situation to her patiently. The Pearlcatcher that attacked her apologized, and she was given shelter while she healed.

Anafiel was puzzled by the clan's hospitality. After all, she had been stealing and trespassing; she wouldn't quite blame them if they had killed her.

Over the course of the week she spent healing, she learned a lot about the clan through Harlie. Apparently, she had fought adamantly to keep Anafiel in the clan grounds while she healed. Some others were distrusting of her, understandably, but Harlie had faith in her. After all, it's not hard for a mislead ex-criminal to recognize one of her own kind. Anafiel took some time to warm up to the rest of the clan as well. Every so often a new dragon would come into the infirmary to speak with Harlie, the clan Healer.

Harlie and Anafiel soon became very close. Their lives were similar prior to the clan, and they connected easily. Harlie had complete faith that Anafiel wasn't a bad dragon at heart, just a lost one.

When Anafiel was well enough to leave the infirmary, she was properly introduced to the rest of the clan. She was a little overwhelmed, but she found Harlie to be a comfortable presence. Harlie had managed to win over the trust of most of the clan already, and the clan leaders had all decided that she was welcome to stay. They offered her a chance to join the clan, to start a new life, and to finally have a place to belong to. All it took was one look into Harlie's eyes for her to say yes.

Anafiel is a very laid back dragon. She mostly keeps to herself and Harlie, as she isn't used to being very social. She also loves to play pranks. She had mastered her stealth skills during her time as a thief, so she is excellent at sneaking up on unsuspecting dragons. Her little jokes bring laughter to everyone-- Except the one being pranked!
