"That was a stupid decision," muttered Nobleborn, gazing down upon the young Ironsides Clan.

Riversweep shook his head. "It wasn't a decision at all." The two Imperials, one white and one blue, gazed down at their Clanmates.

Nobleborn tilted her head. "You really are 'prone to making impulsive decisions'," said the white Imperial. "That old Guardian was right."

"Hey!" protested Riversweep. Beside him, his little Satin Pocketmouse chittered angrily on behalf of its companion dragon. "I told you," said the Clan Leader, "It wasn't ever a decision. I had no choice."

The female Imperial gently bumped Riversweep's wing with her own. "Hey," she said, "I never said it was a bad choice."

Riversweep took a deep breath. "Yeah, I guess so. But do you think I can really do this?"

Nobleborn grinned. "Well, you're Clan Leader now, like it or not. Now go give an inspiring speech to your Clanmates."
