Menkes may look like a typical, soft, gift-giving Coatl, but quite the opposite. Thanks to his inability to speak his native tongue of vibrations and an odd inner ear more similar to that of a regular dragon, Menkes has never had any issue understanding regular dragon speech. In fact, quite the opposite, he excels at communication and is a rather charismatic and charming dragon. Hearing something like that may make one think that his lack of more musical talent was why he was driven from his homeland among the other Coatls, but surprisingly, that wasn't it at all.

Despite his shimmery, flashy exterior, and his ability to woo almost any dragon into being his friend, it's hard to look past his Cannibalistic Tendencies. Most Coatls develop a taste for Seafood growing up, of course as is completely natural for them, but Menkes developed a different palate. Ever since seeing a bloodied, dead Pearlcatcher that had been brought in to find where they belonged to, it'd been a gnawing, aching hunger.
