Besides immense wealth, his family is known for the psychic powers and the generations of purebred golden spirals. Unlike its other golden clan members, he was shunned for sharing the dark color traits of a previously fallen rival clan that once hunted his clan for body traffickings, despite his lineage not having any relations to the enemy clan. Relatives usually labels Vice as the ghost of the enemy that will bring them misfortune, thus greatly looking him down.
Although quite wary at first, he thought his life has turned for the better when a particular group of eminent fellow clan members, especially an Imperial named Luo seemingly have a liking on him and treated him with kindness and respect. Their clan were renowned for their psychic talents and lineages.
Vice himself also has the psychic talent in lunar magic and some specialty in foresight, which is hardly known by others due to his solitude nature. At one point he received a vision of a heavy wave of ill omen will befall him, which later turns out one of his distant cousin attempted to murder him out of jealousy that the Luo family paid attention to him, besides accusing Vice to have enticed them and harming their reputation.
Oddly but fortunately enough, one of Luo’s clan member stepped in and saved him, although Vice's third eye, the source of his power was rendered blind by the attack. The assaulter was later sentenced to death and Luo took Vice under his wing, generously offered to heal his third eye in exchange of working as Luo’s servant.
This has slowly earned Vice's trust and loyalty for him, however he was later betrayed when he secretly found out the clan dabbles in black magic and has been aiming for the spiral's body parts as ritual offering, claiming his rare traits serves as the main component to bring forth the solar eclipse.
Emotionally shattered, he knew escaping will be futile as the revered clan has a strong grasp over his well being and high standings within the society. Ultimately he decided to play along while plotting to turn over the tides when the time comes.
