What's in the darkest water?
Soft spoken, mysterious, cold... Strange eyes bore into your skull. Eyes that you're certain think you belong in chains--or worse, frozen for eternity in the Fortress of Ends. Awyn regards others not of the Archive or of Ice flight with the same solid distain as one regards an escaped prisoner. Fitting, for an Exalted dragon of Ice.

I'm scared to death that
Awyn is the stern, heavy handed leader of the Archive, and the overseer of all entities held there. His duty is to observe and rank anomalies present in Sorneith and determine if they're dangerous enough to be sent off with Gaolers to the Fortress or if imprisonment in the Archive is sufficient. He keeps a well organized and regularly updated log of anything and anyone to enter the Archive. Many suspect he was born to light before he was exalted, for all his studiousness.

I won't make it out of here alive
To those of the Archive, another face of the stern man is known. The man who shrugged off an assassination attempt and yet let the would-be assassin continue working under him. The man who adopted Quill for all the opossum's wildness. The cool touch of a rich blue glove to reassure when something goes wrong. A fool mistakes it for weakness. Awyn's kindness comes in actions, never from his mouth.

I don't understand
Awyn's patience to those who work with and under him seems boundless. His years in the Fortress with an unchanging group of peers has perhaps chipped away at any sort of impatience he may have once had. When Aechon's ambition drove a blade between the Head Archivist's ribs, a resounding sigh was all the reaction he gave.

But I fear the danger
"Oh, Aechon..." The blade slides out and clatters to the floor. Clean as the day it was forged. The archmage places his hand on the nape of Aechon's neck, "Unfortunately, you'll find I am as eternal as anything from the Fortress. Unchanging. Frozen in time." Even as the others watched, Aechon trembled as Awyn pulled his head down to press their foreheads together, "Don't be a fool anymore. You don't really want what I have, I assure you." The whisper is heavier than all the chains of the Warden.

Oh what have we done?
While cold and blunt to outsiders, Awyn is much softer to those among his staff. He regards them as close as family. He is understanding and wise to advise on solutions when something goes wrong, be it a personal conflict or something regarding one of the Archived. His advice is often stated blunt and sharp, a sort of brutal-honesty kind of delivery, but in the end he means to help. More modern terms and jokes fly over his head--much to the amusement of Quill--but he takes them in stride. His own humor is more often than not fatalistic and dry, but typically at the expense of the Archived.
