Biography

You sense it don't you? It's why you're here.

You know, I wasn't always a dragon. I remember times back when dragons were things of fancy in books and old parchments. Back when strange fleshy creatures who called themselves "man" roamed the world. Think of a dunhoof from the torso up, only without the hoofed bit down below- just skin covered legs and these fleshy, stubby feet. It's hard to picture, I know.

Ahh, yes. Back in those days I was magically gifted as well. It's in the blood. Ironically, the very blood that gave me my abilities was cursed. I was forever chasing shards of a magic sword, hoping to gather enough of them to free me from my inheritance. It's a long, unpleasant story in all honesty, so I won't bore you with it.

Just know I'm not alone. Voldo used to be like me only... different. I could sense the sword in him, but I don't think it was in his blood. It's almost as if it chose him. When we first met he wasn't much better off than he is now: blind, mad, half-naked and covered in scars. It's as if he can hear the sword calling even when I can't sense a thing. That would drive me insane, too.

We were forever fighting over shards of those swords. All of us. Voldo, myself, and countless more lost to time. Time took pity on me and bad luck did the rest, transforming me into the creature you see today.

And Voldo? Well, let's just say human companionship is a rarity these days. I've taken care of him so long I think I've grown to love him... or has he taken care of me? Hahaha... I never was any good at these things!

You still don't believe me? Well, here's how I used to look...

*she takes out a tiny, impossibly ancient, battered gold locket and carefully opens it with a single claw.*

And here I am. Or was, rather. The face has changed, yet I still remain the same... I'm just Ivy.
