The Clan GraveKeeper. Eden isn't a clan that is known to bury it's dead too often. The clan tend to burn it's dead, then bury their ashes, believing that their bodies become one with the earth and become the plants and trees that surround them. Although, not every part of the dragon gets burned. Sometimes, the fire just doesn't burn hot enough to get everything. So finding bones or even skulls isn't uncommon. Usually, they're buried with the ashes. But the clan found out that they weren't 'turning into dirt' quite like the ashes were. In fact, most of the time they were still very much intact. Thats when they decided that maybe, they should keep them in remembrance of the fallen. And thats when Guardia came into the picture. No body knows why she decided to settle down by the clan's burial grounds. But they considered it 'fate'. When asked though, she just says 'the soil is good here'. It's her duty to gather and bury the ashes after each dragon's funeral. It's also her duty to take any left behind bones, bury them and then carve out that dragon's tombstone, as well as watch over and keep the graves. She also has an odd hobby of collecting animal bones and keeping them in her den. Desert even brings her some bones he finds while out scavenging. The skull apparel she wears, she made herself. No one knows why she keeps such a...'morbid' collection, but it doesn't hurt anyone, so dragons tend to bite their tongues. Although she has what many would say it 'an unhealthy fascination with death'. But personally, she sees no trouble with it. She thinks death is a beautiful thing. An internal rest for the long living. The end of someone's long and beautiful story. After all, whats the point of a tale with no end? One of her favorite pieces in her collection, is a pearlcatch's skull and it's still perfectly intact pearl. It's the only dragon piece she has. So far, any how. She also swears she found it, and it's no one the clan knows. Her Talonok's name is Dozhul. And much like her, it's his duty to over see the burials of the fallen beastclan that live within Eden's territory. He finds the fact that Guardia wears birdskulls to be a bit disturbing, but she swears not a single one is a talonok. Although she often teases him, saying the only one she'd ever wear is his skull when he passes. |
