Biography
currently- aqua birdskull leg, it's not a secret skin, ravenous cauldron
Immediately upon hatching Zaero was plucked from his nest and placed into a dark cramped holding cell. No chance to meet his parents or any siblings he may have had. He wondered if this is what life was like, if it was just darkness and discomfort. The only sounds he heard for what seemed like forever where the shuffles and cries of others around him. They cried out into the darkness for something, wanting in their voices, but Zaero stayed silent. They terrified him and he just wanted to hide from their screams.
One day he heard voices right outside of his tiny cell, he could not understand them but he did hear the words “treasure”, “beautiful”, and “rare” a lot while they spoke. Heavy footsteps approached his door followed by the fumbled clicking of the lock. Zaero withdrew as far as he could away from the sounds, curling his tail around him protectively. He had heard many locks click during his stay and the following yells made his hair stand on end. Now his own door creaked open revealing a massive pale dragon, his ugly face scarred and with one wild blind eye. The dragon grunted and motioned for Zaero to come out. Zaero didn't move. Annoyed the stocky dragon before him thrust his head forward and bit down onto Zaero's tail, dragging him out of his cell. He whimpered and clawed trying to stay in the cell, trying to get away from the hold. The dragon abruptly flung him to the side and he hit the opposite wall hard.
“Don't damage him, he won't be worth anything if you scar him!” Another dragon yelled angrily. This one was impossibly large and his head brushed the ceiling even while not standing straight.
The other ignored him and kept his attention focused on Zaero.
“Are you going to cooperate or am I going to have to drag you all the way to the auction block?”
Zaero just stared, wide eyed, looking back and forth between them frantically. He did not know what the dragons before him were saying. He had not been taught how to communicate.
“Are you listening boy?!” The anger in the smaller dragons voice grew with each word. He whipped his tail around and hit Zaero across the side.
Zaero cried out and withdrew in on himself more.
The large dragon pushed the smaller aside forcibly.
“I told you to stop. The boy is obviously incompetent, very pretty, but an idiot. It can't be helped. Just drag him to the block.”
The smaller did as he was told without a word and took Zaero to the auction block, where he sold quickly as expected.

Zaero came from a five-egg nest, the first his parents ever had. He was the only boy, only Imp, and the only one with Iridescent.
