When she was still a young hatchling, one of her clan members stole a trinket that was highly valued by one of their neighbouring Beastclans. In response, several of the Beastclan waged war against her clan, destroying most of the lair and slaughtering many of her clan members. Still small, she was mostly unnoticed from her hiding place- a small crack hidden by ferns that she just barely managed to creep into. Too frightened to move or do anything that could alert the Beastclan to her presence, she remained hidden for a week. Eventually, a passing Death's-Head Stag pitied her, and comforted her with its presence, whispering stories of dragonlore that it had heard on its journeys into her ear to distract her as time passed.
Vix desperately hung onto every story that the stag told her, immersing herself deeper and deeper into the lore until she could recite them just as fluently as it did. Eventually, when the Beastclan left, she also left the remains of her home, accompanied by the stag, to find a new one. She was found by Monty during one of his short jaunts, and was invited to join the clan. Although she was reluctant to remain in the Ashfall Wastes and told the clan that she would remain only one night to regain her strength, after hearing Avi raise his voice to call down the blessings of the Flamecaller on their guest, she felt as though there was something strong telling her to stay. Ignoring it, she had just begun to prepare to leave when a nearby volcano stirred, staining the sky with plumes of smoke and ash, making it all but impossible to leave. She took it as a sign, and has since settled down happily with the Duronne Clan, working alongside Avriel in his new project of replacing the old tattered scrolls containing the Lore with new ones.

A level-headed dragon, her other clan members find her calmness infectious, and so often seek her out for her companionable silence and advice.
