Caster Class: Scholar Home: The Hewn City Bio: Long studying the secrets of the Shade and its effect on history and the world, Caster makes The Hewn City his home, daring to live where others are wary to even wander. Despite the danger it provides knowledge unable to be gleaned elsewhere. A trade-off that he will happily trade his safety for. Ancient scriptures and tomes are there for the taking, compiled together to work out a coherent timeline and legends around the Shade and the dragons who fought both against it and for it. A deadly being, foe to all of dragonkind, and yet there are those who worship it, trying to bring it back to full strength. There is much more to be learned that Caster has yet to find. Much more to share with his fellow scholars, those who dare to study the same things that he does and brave the dangerous parts of the world for the knowledge. Previous Assignment: A site just off the Sundial Terrace was discovered, bringing forth all sorts of scholars and explorers. Archaeologists worked together to uncover secrets buried, guided by the scholars and defended by the explorers. Caster joined the dig just like the others, working in the most rundown sections of the site. It was the most dangerous, prone to tremors causing collapses. Wild animals skittered about, darker things lurking deep in the shadows. He became close friends with the archaeologists under his guidance, leading them to chart, decipher, and scribe many pieces of history from the walls and books and scrolls around the area. Crumbling papers were put under stasis spells, keeping them from disintegrating long enough for them to take them back to base and carefully write down their contents. Danger lurked around them at almost all times. Both predators out for a meal and dragons looking for a buck off ancient knowledge. One night they're attacked by a group of dragons, lurking in the dark and hidden under layers of wraps and robes. Barely a scale to be seen, they attacked with a fury and made off with several bundles of ancient scrolls. Aftermath: The information lost in those scrolls is irreplaceable. Caster knows they have almost no hope of recovering them. They are long gone, perhaps sold off or hidden in a collector's library or treasure hoard. There are many different reasons for stealing something, greed being one of them. He's zealous in protecting and guarding the secrets that he holds. After the attack more guards are stationed around the dig and when he goes home he implements larger security around his home, especially around his store of artifacts. He doesn't want to lose anything more. Lore Resources: Hazeledpoppy - Tumblr osiem - Vertical Banners | Flight / Shield Icons |
