Hiram was adopted by Nimbus soon after he was hatched. Raised by the Matriarch, his playful and talkative nature was nurtured and he grew into an empathetic and easy-to-talk to friend of the entire clan. He had an intense dislike for conflict, and was excellent and diffusing arguments between his clanmates, even though he was, as Majesty put it, “about as threatening as a pineapple.” He often would accompany Nimbus when she would go on diplomatic meetings with other clans, keeping peace and calming the fiery intentions of neighboring clans. He was soon known well, if only by appearance and not by name, by allies to the House, and was officially given the title of Peacebringer. Being raised by Nimbus, Hiram became close with one of her true children, Aviel. He, and his twin, Bravo, formed a dynamic trio who were next to inseperable. The three behemoths could disappear into the Crystalspine’s many caves for weeks at a time, diving headfirst into the Starwood Strand's murky depths only to emerge with treasures and stories galore. Once Bravo was given the position of Sentinel, however, Aviel and Hiram spent a lot of time alone together, exploring the Starwood Strand and Crystalspine Mountains, enjoying each other’s company. Besides little spats here and there, life in the clan was peaceful, largely on the part of Hiram’s good nature and calming presence. There was, however, one great looming threat: Clan Stelaris. Their leaders forced all neighboring clans to send in tributes for a horrid fight to the death; they had lost many of their own to this Hunger Games. Hiram had tried several times to meet with members of this clan - maybe he could convince them that this bloodshed was no way to live - but the moment he would set a foot onto the clan’s territory, he was chased out with threats to his life. |
