Oliver's parents were relatively sweet and kind. He only knew them for a short period, though, before he was whisked off to another clan before he could barely walk. This new clan was nothing like his old one; it was kill or be killed here. He was treated as a number, not a dragon. He was constantly bullied and belittled for being smaller than the rest of his mirror peers. Terrified and emotional at first, Oliver quickly built up a rock-solid emotional layer of attitude and thinly veiled aggression. That, along with becoming lighting fast in a fight, kept him alive. To the surprise of his new clan’s leaders, he made it past childhood. He had gained respect among his peers, but Oliver didn't care. He had been raised on harsh words and violence, and he believe that that was the only way to ever get anywhere. Since he refused to form any kind of relationship with the members of this clan that raised him, he was put into rigorous training to become a soldier. He was, again, the most ruthless of his peers with a razor sharp tongue and next-to-no mercy. His ferocity was determined as a valuable trait, and was put up for auction. He was purchased by the Trademaster of his new clan - a fire-eyed Wildclaw named Azara - and expected that he was to be used until he broke. Upon arrival to the clan, he was surprised and confused by the immense kindness he was shown. He was showered in gifts and in people who wanted to get to know him. Terrified that this was some sort of trick, Oliver would both physically and verbally frighten away anyone who tried to talk to him. Celena, seeing how freaked out he was, began talking to him in an attempt to weave him into the clan’s life. Oliver, wary at this tiny, cobweb-covered dragon who had no problem being a complete and utter nightmare for her clanmates to interact with, opened up to her. The two spend a lot of time together, as she’s the only person Oliver can maintain a conversation with without wanting to tear her face off. She’s tried to push him towards making relationships with others in the clan, but as she’s the only one he puts up with, Celena decided to let it alone. His militancy and precise way of speaking caught Majesty’s eye, and she gave him the position of Inquisitor; any sort of investigations done with backing by the House are performed with Oliver at the head. Oliver has one thing that he loves above all else: cats. He adores his familiar, an owlcat named Solace, and anyone who even whispers a mean word about her is susceptible to have a nasty run-in with the Inquisitor. Despite the fact that he is outwardly vicious - and is assumed to be by most of the clan - when he’s relaxed, he likes making punny jokes. When he isn’t relaxed, he likes threatening to kill people. |
