Monsters haunt Ratmir's dreams. Terrifying beasts with the faces of friends,old and new. Corpses mangled together, false breath heaving out of collapsed lungs, blood oozing out of new holes. The stuttering whisper of his mother's last lullaby fills the air. Repeating directly into his ears as he grows smaller and smaller. This is the cost of his mistakes, of his past in the land of ice he is desperately trying to leave behind. Ratmir knows the importance of doing his job well, and the cost of failing at that. Not all dead sleep as soundly as we would like, but Ratmir tries his best to make sure it at least seems like they do.
