B I O G R A P H Y
______ Azara was raised in the burning rocks and bubbling lava of the Molten Scar. As a hatchling she was forced to fight others by her father for the benefit of the clan. Other clans would bet on her likelihood of winning. Azara, while not the largest, was by far the smartest and learned fast. She became skilled in the few months that she fought, bringing in pots of money and making quite a few enemies along the way. She didn’t care; to her, winning meant she got to go home, alive, and with the promise of some sort of food. Her victories didn’t last her long, though. Overworked and underfed, Azara began to lose. After losing one too many fights, her father sold her to a black market hatchling trader. The trader kept them all in a massive warehouse, in tiny cages or in pens with heavy chains around their legs, necks, and wings. She was never bought, growing up in a dark cage with hundreds of other scared, hatchlings and juveniles. There were several who tried to escape, but they were all found and brought back, or killed in the attempt.

______ One night, while Azara slept, a hulking dragon made it’s way into the warehouse. Those who were still awake shivered in fear; was this it? Had the trader finally been caught, and this dragon was here to destroy them before any evidence could be stacked against him? To their surprise and delight, every lock and chain in the dank prison sprang loose, freeing them all. Azara, desperate for the freedom she had craved for so long, almost immediately took flight, but not before seeing her savior: a massive Guardian with brilliant pink eyes smiling at her. She immediately flew from the Auction House. For months she wandered, avoiding clans and wild creatures alike, nearly starving sometimes, nearly getting killed by creatures other times. Through her trials, she made a promise to herself: never would she let another hatchling be taken advantage of in the way she did; not when she could protect it.

______ She found shelter in the Crystalspine Reaches. Exhausted and half-dead, she collapsed in a small grove of trees, praying that there wouldn’t be anyone trying to kill her between now and the morning. Upon her awakening, she found that she’d landed in the middle of a bustling lair. Faes and Imperials abounded, littered with the occasional guardian dropping in. She was greeted kindly by one of the clan’s matriarchs, Nimbus, who invited her to stay as long as she liked. Azara was quickly given the position of Trademaster; her persuasive skills and go-getter attitude made her ideal for the job. Not only does she recruit dragons for the clan at the Auction House, she manages the clan’s stores, along with its treasure and gems.

______ A force to be reckoned with in a fight, Azara has a steadfast moral code that she ticks to no matter what. She’s willing to protects those who can’t protect themselves even if it comes at a great cost. Her life experiences have taught her to rely on no one but herself, and is stubbornly independent. She may act very laid back and aloof, but she knows what she wants and she will not back down until she gets it.
