”I'm not here to be ladylike."
The Honorable Charmeine, Knight of the Faerie Court, isn’t as refined as faer title makes her sound. Fae's a ruthless killer with a knack for getting faeself into (and out of) highly dangerous situations. As a hatchling fae was small and easily subdued but that didn’t stop fae from picking fights fae couldn’t handle. Fae'd return to faer nest battered and bruised, bearing a proud smirk and the phrase, “you should see the other guy.” Most of faer scraps were a result of faer defending the honor of various dragons getting picked on for aspects of themselves that they’d never be able to control. Once fae almost took a young Ridgeback’s nose off because he was teasing a small Snapper about her stutter. Essentially, Charmeine is one Pearlcatcher you don’t want to meet on the battlefield. Fae’ll take you out and knock you sideways in half a heartbeat. Soon faer honorable scraps got fae into a fair amount of trouble, and that’s when fae caught King Silva’s eye.
“The rules of combat are simple: fight until someone ends up on the ground." Silva was wandering the Southern Icefield when fae noticed a fairly young Pearlcatcher being marched towards a series of caves with faer wrists shackled together. The king would’ve passed by without a second glance if fae hadn’t seen the fire burning in the dirty dragon’s silver eyes. Fae stopped the entourage to ask why the dragon was being imprisoned in such a dark, dingy lair. Before faer escorts could even open their mouths to speak, the Pearlcatcher looked the King dead in the eye and said, “I took out a warlord yesterday and everyone is very upset with me.” The story goes that Charmeine had stolen a Blushing Pink Rose from a local warlord’s immortal garden. “I didn’t think nature belonged to anyone,” fae shrugged defensively. The warlord decided to come after faer old lair, accompanied by several of his allies. Charmeine defeated them by causing an avalanche to bury them alive. What remained of the warlord’s generals captured fae and sentenced fae to death. Fae agreed to join Silva’s Court because he promised to protect faer family and offer fae a home where fae could fight as much as fae wanted with the power of a thousand Imperials. The young, headstrong warrior was easily seduced by the Faerie King’s words. Fae sold faer soul to Silva and now fae fights for the king.
”What is this ‘dame’ nonsense? I’m a knight, thank you very much, and you’ll address me accordingly."
