Shimmer was only a hatchling when a gruff Nocturne traveler abandoned her in Arella's oceanfront scrying stand during Wavecrest Saturnalia.

Her story is largely untold, as she is deaf and must find nonverbal means of communication. Arella desperately wants to learn DSL (Dragon Sign Language) but is notorious for her inability to concentrate on anything other than mystical matters. Fortunately, Shimmer arrived with her beloved Tormey - a silent, furry companion who shares the same mysterious crystal genetics and dotes on her every waking moment.

It wasn't long before Arella realized Tormey and Shimmer were able to communicate with each other telepathically. They are quite the intriguing duo, and the clan is grateful for Tormey's quiet devotion and protection as he accompanies Shimmer everywhere.

Arella unofficially adopted the pair, and Shimmer's confidence began to grow when she was given the responsibility of Treasure Master (accumulating valuables and magic items for the clan). But her real strength and maturity emerged the day she stumbled upon Telsa, and took him under her nuturing wing. It was then that her life truly took on meaning and purpose.
