AN ANGSTY HISTORY
At birth, Mikale belonged to the Nature Flight. He knew from the beginning that he had no parents to turn to, but was reared equally by the adult dragons of his flight. The young Nocturne was, however, not raised in the most kindhearted of clans. His family--- The Reeds-- were not well off. They were too lazy to hunt and too poor to buy their own food, so would often go hungry and end up quite cranky. Mikale was just another to feed, so he was sent to a Shadow Flight clan called the "Godono Clan," where he lived... a somewhat better life. There, he learned to hunt for his food and fight for the things that he wanted. However, he was not given the benefit of a nurturing family and learned to mimic ruthless behavior. As mimicking was all he knew to do, Mikale became an undesirable and miserable person to be around. He himself was miserable as well, as he craved the nurturing environment that plants need to survive. Then, on something of a whim, he was defeated in a fight by a Clan-less dragon: Satou defeated Mikale when he challenged her in an all-or-nothing for some food she had gathered... However, Mikale had nothing. Without missing a beat, the pink Spiral decided that her "all" would be taking him home and feeding him. And even after the one meal, Mikale never left her. The pair of them decided to abandon their old lonely lifestyles and start anew as their own clan in the Arcane domain.

THE KURONEKO CLAN
The Clan that Mikale now affiliates himself with is called the "Kuroneko Clan," named for a 2nd World idea that black cats could be either omens or luck or misfortune depending on your viewpoint. Likewise, the Kuroneko Clan tends to be filled with those that once felt like society's burdens or ill omens, until they were taken under the clan's wing. Mikale is considered one of the "Leaders." His chief responsibility is to hunt for food and organize it. He has something for a talent for mixing flavors together into delicacies that no one can refuse, and cooking has become a hobby of his. He is also generally the one who creates the unique apparel that his new family wears, due to a talent in sewing. PERSONALITY BLURB Mikale often comes off as being a tough and terrifying sort of dragon to encounter: He was raised to fight for what he wanted and use force to make his place in the world. But Mikale is not actually this sort of character: He's just good at adapting. Adapting and mimicking is something that Nocturnes in general, but for Mikale it is a literal life-or-death survival strategy. He developed his violent personality so he would not be cast aside and left to die in a violent Clan. Worse yet, he spent so long in that mindset that he struggles to shake it. With his mate Satou, Mikale has been slowly expanding his understanding of, of all things, himself. He's actually a timid sort of dragon who doesn't have the confidence he fakes. Mikale has a bleeding heart, but is careful to only apply his kindness actively to certain people. When he loves, Mikale commits 100% to it and is incredibly dedicated and loyal. His mate is mindful of Mikale's habit of mimicking to survive, and has done a good job of helping him make his own choices and grow confident in his own "self." However, this is still a work in progress. Sometimes Mikale reverts to an old personality and becomes aggressive until she comes to help him unwind. |
