A passion for the past was kindled in Carven early in his youth, on a day when it occurred to him that the stalwart ruins that had bordered his clan’s territory far past the reach of anyone’s memory, the great monoliths whose vastness seemed as eternal as the earth itself, must have, at some time, been built. This thought, once formed in the curious hatchling’s mind, fascinated him, and while his friends played games and tested their new wings, Carven wandered the ruins searching for answers. The fact that he never found any didn’t discourage him. Carven’s joy is in the art of observation, rather than in making discoveries. He loves exploration for the sake of it, and learning, and since he came of age to leave his birth clan has traveled the farthest reaches of Sornieth in order to do so. He has read tales embedded in stone, traced hieroglyphs that none can understand, and discovered mysterious artifacts bearing knowledge of forgotten times, and powerful magic. With experience has come wisdom. While mind-reading is an imprecise art at best, Carven claims a keen eye for detail and a basic understanding of body language is as reliable a way as any to stay out of trouble with the locals. This philosophy, along with practical knowledge of six draconian languages, is an effective buffer between himself and the foreigners he encounters in his travels. They also make for wonderful storytelling, as anyone who’s watched Carven narrate one of his adventures could attest. Strengths: Curious, but also insightful. He asks good questions, and formulates good answers. Flaws: Has trouble with priorities. Also prone to surprising bouts of naivete. Likes: Hearing stories, and telling them. Hates: Sour flavors, hatchlings (it isn’t their fault), and inattentive listeners. Hoards: Orbs, and other spherical objects. He likes their aesthetic, and has an extensive collection. Fun Fact: Carven likes to slip rhyme schemes into his everyday speech to see who will notice (others rarely notice).
