Biography

History:
Yume was born in a crowded nest of five. Two brother and two sisters were a lot for little Yume to handle. They were loud and mostly rambunctious, so he tried to keep his contact with them to a minimum. So, in turn, he spent much his time away from his parents.
As he grew, his siblings bonded. He was the outcast of the quintuplets, never acknowledged except to be picked on. They lowered his already low self-esteem and made him feel like he didn't belong. It got so bad one day that he snuck out with a hunting party, using his ropey body to coil around one of the huntsman's sword. When they were far enough from his old, rather lawless camp, he leaped off the hilt and scurried away in the night, raising no more suspicions than a hyper-active raccoon would.
He hurried away, dodging bramble and cowering when he heard a threatening noise. Never had he noticed the way shadows danced on the Reedcleft Ascent, or how howls seemed to reverberate for the longest time. Finally, after hours of anxious torment, he found a peaceful enough cave to sleep in.
The next morning he left his cave, still shaken from the previous night. It was less terrifying in the day, and he could hear the laughs of hatchlings from nearby clans carried to him by the wind. He headed southeast, and reached the barrier of the Fire within the day. He passed into it, and would soon meet his best friend for life.
He was a peppy Spiral named Deiga, who was learning how to patrol the borders of his clan with his father. Deiga was excited to finally see someone (he was bored after walking around for hours in absurdly hot weather) and begged his dad to take Yume back as a hostage. His father laughed at this, since Yume was obviously still a hatchling, but took him back to the clan nonetheless.
That was were Yume really grew up. The faces of his siblings are hazy, and his parents' are in no better condition, yet he remembers the faces of Deiga's parents as clear as day.
As was custom in his new clan, when a hatchling reached of age, he or she went through a test to see if they were to stay in the clan or leave. It was quite mysterious how the whole affair went, and either outcome was celebrated greatly.
Deiga took the test and it was decided that he was best suited to leaving the clan. After much pestering from his adopted parents, Yume took the test as well. He was surprised when the results came back as thus:
YUME is to travel and find a NEW CLAN.
His key characteristics are: ADVENTUROUS, CURIOUS, and SMART.
We send you off with great hopes!
The Council of Ash and Fire
Deiga and Yume were ecstatic that they got the same results and would leave the clan together, after many celebratory parties, of course. Their parents gave them hugs and a sack of coins to provide for them for the first couple months on their own. After a teary good-bye, Yume and Deiga set off together.
They traveled together for years, never settling in one place. Deiga wanted to see the whole wide world, and who was Yume to refuse him? So, jumping from place to place, clan to clan, town to town, was the way they lived for a long, long time.
Finally, Deiga's wander-lust died down. He began to linger in areas, even shed a few tears when they would leave. Finally, Yume suggested that they finally find a permanent home. Deiga agreed, a little wearily. They sought out the area for a relaxed clan, where they wouldn't have to perform some crazy stunt to get into, and finally found it--Chronomaly. And so their new life began in a pool of sunshine on a warm, cheery day.

Personality:
Yume is like porcelain: pretty to look at and easy to shatter. His touch is soft as silk, and just as light. He is fearful of causing disturbances, but also afraid of being forgotten. He likes making small bracelets and necklaces to offer to dragons with whom he wants to be friends, yet he never works up the courage to give it to the dragon. So, most of his delicate creations are given to Deiga or he keeps them himself, promising that one day he will give them to those he knows.
He is often seen in a large, crowded space, nervously coiling his tail into knots and then uncoiling it. Sometimes, he'll open his mouth and raised a spindly finger, only to shut it and go back to shifting nervously. He's worried that the other dragons might think he is dumb or too innocent. So, he stays silent when all he wants to do is talk.
The only dragon he relaxes with is Deiga, his mate and closest confident. He can't pretend to be at ease with another, he is too nervous to. His heart jack-rabbits out of his chest when he even thinks about the mere prospect of speaking to a stranger. Deiga, however, has quite a wide range of friends and acquaintances. Yume is perfectly happy to leave the socializing up to him.
He and Deiga are often seen together under the stars, sitting silently with their bodies curled around each other's. Yume admitted to falling in love with Deiga at first sight, and Deiga soon grew to realize that his affections ran just as deep. So, in a strange and indirect way, his siblings did him a favor by bullying him all those years ago.

Yume is incredibly reserved for a spiral, he's always in the background of conversations, too scared to actually join in. His only and best friend is Deiga, who practically forced himself on the other spiral, but Yume appreciated it. While Deiga has a huge circle of acquaintances Yume is satisfied with only the red spiral for company. He's gentle, even delicate. The soft green and purple dragon is great with his hands, much better than with his words. He likes making little necklaces and bracelets out of shells and beads, using the jewelry as small gifts to try and make friends. Yume knows much more about others than they know of him, as he often listens in to conversations to try and join in just to give up. He sometimes makes special necklaces for people he's interested in, using the interests he's heard they have, using their favorite colors or patterns. Most of his jewelry goes to Deiga though, as the red spiral has stuck with him through thick and thin.
