Orchid Petalwing
Beautiful and agile, Orchid acts as an ambassador for Thalassic wings. He might seem to be a shallow and foppish little dragon at first, but he has great practice and skill with manipulating others, abilities he once used to play mean tricks. Now, the fae’s much less mean, but still, look out! He’s also one of the clan’s first warriors, and has quite sharp claws. ________________________________

Orchid was adopted into the clan, one of very few dragons hand-picked by the old matriarch Calypso for his beauty. She trained the empty-headed little hatchling into an elegant young dragon who was her perfect ambassador. However, Orchid soon proved to have a mischievous streak a mile long, and loved to play pranks on other dragons, most frequently Calypso’s husband. So, she sent Orchid out on a trip to negotiate with an allied fire clan, alongside Mystery and Bisharti. The two were assigned to train him, and by the time he returned, the tiny fae had grown into a powerful young warrior.

Orchid was Calypso’s ideal second-in-command. He was beautiful, powerful, and had enough of a cruel streak to punish dragons in clever ways for not listening to her. Secretly, Orchid did not enjoy being under Calypso’s reign, but was too afraid of her to do anything about her burgeoning tyranny. He took out his misery in more complicated pranks and manipulation, and made it clear that he was a cut above his clanmates with his cold and conniving attitude.

When Calyspo began taking Orchid’s work for granted, Orchid let his duties slide, and allowed the new generation to take over. After Lihira and Abalone overthrew the old leader, Orchid was content to sit back, meddle in other people’s affairs a bit, and eat his favorite foods, choosing only to step in when the new leaders needed a little manipulation to convince people to follow their command. Finding himself under so much less pressure with Calypso out of power, Orchid grew into himself, becoming less serious and withdrawn and more goofy and flirty.

When Momoa’s second husband passed away, he was assigned to look after her in her time of grieving, and eventually grew enamored with her. Once he only thought of her personality as drab and her magic as convenient, but slowly, he began to really enjoy her laid-back nature and quiet company. Momoa quite adores his little pranks, and Orchid lives to see the heavily depressed dragon smile. After a year, he married Momoa. His son is Cleo and his stepdaughter is Sappho. He is not a great father—his son doesn’t understand him and his daughter is irritated by him, but he tries his best.
