When Salacia was still in the egg, they had an accident. Her mother, loving the beach, thought it would be good idea to nest in the smooth sandy beach off of the coast of the Arcane territory. She selected a beautiful spot; giant glistening crystals rising from the water and sand to form a secluded area perfect for attending a nest.

However, the proximity to the ocean is exactly what caused her accident. The rising tides came and claimed her, pulling her egg out to sea and dashing it upon the magic-infused crystals, causing the tiny hatchling to be born in the water, her first breath being the warm sea water so filled with Arcane energies. Her mother quickly found her and pulled her out, claiming she would never let Salacia near the ocean again.

Ever since, the eldest of the clutch has been the odd one out. Her magic abilities started much stronger than any hatchling her age, and she had mastered levitating things at only a few days old. Her mother desperately tried to stifle her powers, thinking them dangerous and unsafe. This caused Salacia to become near rebellious. Not only does she love to openly use her powers in front of her parents, but she's taken up waterbending to spite them, who are scared that she might have another accident. She's become quite skilled, often putting on shows for the other hatchlings and doing experiments to find out what else she can do with her waterkinesis. Creatures, weapons, armor, you name it and she can control the water to fit what she sees in her mind.

One day her mother confronted her, demanding she stop lest she inspire her siblings to start up what she's doing and get themselves drowned. After a long argument, Salacia decided she couldn't handle it anymore and, alighting on her small wings, soared over the very ocean that had nearly claimed her life to find a new home, a new life, a new beginning.
