You arrived at an abandoned house. You know it was abandoned because the forest had reclaimed most of it; many trees, flowers and vines called this home now. It looked beautiful, really, you didn't understand why people would fear to tread here. Something drew you in. What was it that you heard?

She looked funny. She moved funny. She even sounded funny---if she was speaking a language at all. You were laughing when you first saw her. You aren't laughing now.

You were startled when you first saw her (admit it, you let out a yelp), you hadn't expected anyone else. She seemed content with what she was doing, though you weren't sure what she was doing. The way she was swaying and cocking her head, you thought maybe she was listening to the music. The music... when had it started?

She didn't respond to your questions, so you moved to tap her on the shoulder. Vines lashed at you, but you dodged them almost as an afterthought. As she turned to face you, it seemed as if the whole house moved. You dodged and tumbled and fought. Where was that music coming from?

You manage to strike her through her heart. Her mouth seems unaccustomed to form words, but she tries. You can't hear her.

You are outside, but you don't remember leaving. Your pockets are filled with trinkets, but you don't remember picking them up. As you turn to look back at the house, it suddenly doesn't look so beautiful anymore---it frightens you. In the back of your mind, there is a melody that never seems to fade.

WIP material: There are many theories as to what Vanessa is; a hybrid plant/coatl? A parasite that has taken over the coatl host? Or an organic symbiote, that lives together with her, sustains her? Or is it a plant that has grown conscious and taken dragon shape?
