Vedia's early life started in the Shrieking Wilds. Unlike many other Acolytes, who were born on their own and free to leave to find their place, Vedia was born into a pack of wildclaws. Her days, even from a very young age, consisted of waking up early morning, hunting down a large beast for the pack to eat, then going to sleep and repeating it all over. She moved around often, following the food, and lived a very bestial, primitive life. Due to sheer isolation, her pack knew nothing of advanced society and communicated via a guttural language and acted like beasts. They knew nothing of the Gladekeeper, or any of the eleven for that matter.
Whilst she was out with the pack on a hunt one day, she found herself separated from them. Betrayed by the wilds she had become so familiar with, she was lost, confused and scared. She began to move. She tried to continue in her way of life she had become so familiar with, and the only way of life she had ever known, but the beasts she had taken down with such ease earlier were now too large and too intimidating. She ate only small animals and continued on her way, finding everything she knew flipped upside down.
Vedia began to run into other dragons. She was, of course, immediately confused. They weren't wildclaws, and she had never seen dragons like this, with feathery wings, or ones that were small and spoke only in a monotone voice. One did not even speak the same language as the other, instead speaking in strange chirps. She could not communicate with them, and struggled to understand. But eventually, one dragon, a small pink fae with magenta eyes, who spoke with actual emotion said one word to her she understood; Amogayvhi. Of course, she had never heard the name before, nor did she know what it meant, but it awakened a deep feeling within her, and it was all she could understand. The fae directed her on her way towards the behemoth, and bid her adieu.
She found her way to the Behemoth shortly after. She did not know what she was there for, standing at the base of the awe-inspiring tree and staring up. She did not know why the strange fae had sent her here. But it felt right, and it was the only thing she knew to do. Her pack was long gone, and a part of her told her with certainty they wouldn't be found again. So she began to walk. She walked and walked and walked, until one day, something lit her soul and directed her towards one direction. She climbed over a large root to come face to face with a living behemoth. Like a living tree, the creature was massive, covered in leaves with branches breaching out from her body. Her back feet seemed to be roots, and as the creature turned to look at her, Vedia met her intense green eyes, and a singular thought crossed her mind. "Amogayvhi."
The creature suddenly looked upon her with fondness, a warmness in her eyes Vedia was unable to understand. A massive paw reached out towards her, and a single claw touched her. The creature lowered her head and a deep rumbling voice shook the forest. "Go, and learn." Vedia felt a sudden sense of calmness fill her. The world, which had seemed so terrifying and strange since she had been separated from her pack, suddenly seemed like a new horizon filled with opportunities. Vedia didn't want to leave the creature, this...Amogayvhi. But the creature smiled at her and urged her on. "One day, you will come back to me."
So Vedia left. Though it was with great reluctance, she left to do what the creature had told her. She learned. She learned common draconic from a very kindly clan of scholars. She learned of the eleven, and realized the creature she had met was the Gladekeeper. She learned all she could, and eventually found her way to the Sunbeam Ruins where she stayed and lives out a vicarious life, never forgetting the promise of the Gladekeeper that one day she would come back.
