Described by his team as having a simple-minded,Bokuto is playful, outgoing, and obnoxiously loud. He has a child-like personality, where his moods are often affected due to his mood swings, and is always looking for affirmation and attention from his teammates. He often makes jokes about anything and acts dramatically about his plays. Despite these traits that might seem odd on a volleyball player, much less the ace of the Fukurodani volleyball team, Bokuto is both admired by his own team and his opponents for his impressive skill and morale-boosting demeanor.
Bokuto is renowned for his powerful cross-shots, spiking with intense power and strengths, and cutting through most skilled blockers. With each successful spike, Bokuto can only get stronger. He also has an amazing ability to do feints and a good talent at performing wipes. His good ball sense allows him to hit insane cut shots when facing tall blockers.
However, as termed by Akaashi's list of Bokuto's weakness, when he becomes too fixated on one thing, he'll completely forget how to do anything else.
Bokuto's fragility as an ace draws out his other teammates' strength, becoming a strong foundation which isn't easily broken. When Bokuto becomes serious, he becomes as strong as a Top 3-tier ace.
