A star collapses to life in a dark universe. Once there was nothing, no light, no dust, no beauty. Now our universe is speckled with isolated islands of hope, thunderous stars capable of pushing back entropy and providing light for lifeforms and night-time sailors.

But when a star ends its watch over its part of the Universe, it must come to an end with an explosion so large it spans lightyears of space. This terrible fate shared by all in the universe has multiple outcomes for the star. Live on as a devourer of Space and Time, or become a Neutron Star.

Calvera is one such Neutron Star. A lonely star that has run down to its core, which now drifts forever through space, never capable of anything more than brilliant blasts of x-ray light.

Could those bright flashes be a call for help?
