White wings.

Though his wings shimmer and shine, white wings, among the coatl are regarded as an unlucky sign—a mark of a sickly, maybe even a dying dragon. The vibrancy of the rest of his body not taken into account, he was looked at with wariness; no one knew if he was going to drop, with those sickly wings. It wasn't long before, after being sent from clan to clan as a pleasure dragon, he found himself on the auction house's block again, exhausted.

This is it, isn't it...

"Here. Him."

It was the melodic hum of the coatl tongue. The dragon looked up, seeing an Arcanist disciple and a dark-plumaged Coatl below.

Were they next?

"This one, Madama?"

"Yes. He comes home with us."

The white wings spoke. "...home?" It sounded different... New. Promising.

Renaming once again for... he can't remember how many times, Ainu settled into the lair slowly. Not being asked to go back to "work" was the first shock—the second was the lack of awareness of the "curse" of his wings. The third was the complete acceptance of him in the clan. With the pressures off, Ainu is laid back, and a bit of a prankster. This belies his strength, though.

Now that he is not shamed for his wings, Ainu basks in light often, and explores frequently. It was one of these where he found another pale friend...
