Blizzardwing

Lightningpaw glared at him. She looked ready to kill him, and he wasn't making it any better.

"And hedgehogs fly." Lightningpaw snarled. What had he said again? He couldn't remember.

"But Lightningpaw-"

"Have you forgotten already?" She cut him off. As she spoke, fire crept towards them from all directions. They were surrounded. "When I told you I was expecting, I thought you'd be a little more... Maybe... Glad for me? But all you care about is accusing me!" Flames licked her tail, but she didn't seem to notice.

"But Lightningpaw, you're just an apprentice!" He shouts over the roaring flame.

"You really have forgotten, you mouse-brain! We're warriors now, Thundertongue!" He knew that! but he didn't remember the ceremony... Shouldn't he remember that?

"But still! You and Darksoul aren't even together anymore!"

Suddenly, Darksoul jumped out of the flames. He should've been burned, but somehow, he wasn't. "Yeah, Lightningface? What about that? Why aren't we together anymore? I still love you."

A look of terror crosses Lightningface's face. "Darksoul.... Not here, not now, please..." Her eyes dart nervously from side to side, suddenly noticing the fire they were about a whisker from.

"Oh, are you afraid of the fire? Well, that changes everything! I guess I'll just have to settle this later..." He smirks sarcastically, then turns around as if he were going to leave. But then he jums and turns in the air, landing on the heavy queen. "Why did you have to leave me, Lightningface! Why?" There was hurt and anger in his voice, but it didn't waver as they tumbled closer and closer towards the fire."

"Darksoul! No! Not when I'm so close to kitting!" In a flash she was on the ground, five tiny kits squeaking in the heat. Darksoul smiled wickedly, and picked out the smallest one.

"A sacrifice to their father, huh? It's not like he'd survive long without a mother, anyways." He meows casually as he tosses the kit into the air, far beyond the treetops, into the sky. It landed with a soft thud in the fire a few fox-lengths away. Lightningface wailed out in agony as she stared towards her dead kit. Then she looked at him in sheer terror.

"What do you mean, without a mother?" She stutters, and collapses on the ground with fear.

By this point Thundertongue was just a spectator, watching this happen. If he had wanted to interact, nothing would happen, because he was just a mist watching from above.

Darksoul cackled, his meow matching the flames all around them. A cackle. "Do you really want to know?" She shakes her head weakly, before he replies "That wasn't really a question." He leaps on her and-


Thunderpaw wakes with a start. His breathing coming in short gasps, feeling light headed. He warily looks behind him, and relaxes when he sees Lightningpaw, then stiffens again when he sees Darkpaw, curled up against her. Thunderpaw shivers.

He decides to reflect on his dream. The first thing he thinks about s te names. Really? I have all of my imagination to choose from, and I choose Thundertongue and Lightningface?
And I need to calm down. We're just apprentices, remember? This is normal. I should be happy she's got someone like him to keep her warm. He shivered again, this time because of the cold. I'm too worked up about this. I need to let it go. He thinks to himself, trying to calm himself down.




Thunderpaw was on his first border patrol! This was so exciting! What would they encounter? A fox? A badger? Or what about an enemy patrol? His mind ran wild with all the possibilities. He stalked every rustle, jumped at every crack, and nearly leaped out of his skin when he heard Applepelt's voice behind him.

"Tigerfern, Thunderpaw, Lightningpaw, Dustpaw, continue along the Thunderpath while Speckledfawn Robinfire and I will go mark the border closer towards fourtrees. " She points with her tail in both directions. She's just as bossy towards the older warriors as she is with her apprentice! Someone should tell Shadowstar. He thinks.
