== 'My teacher thought to use me to wrest power for himself, But he was weak. An old fool convinced his way was best. In time he will see that this clan was always meant to be MINE.' Alma was groomed from her hatch-day by the malcontent former patriarch, Marsh, so that one day she would help him take his power back. But as she grew, she learned, and soon she realized that Marsh was a madman who would lead her home to ruin. Thus she began plotting in secret to wrest power from the ruling counsel. Not for Marsh, but for herself. Her play was successful, but not without consequences. Neighboring clans in their former home saw the uprising as a threat to their territory and, fueled by lies fed to them by the treacherous Marsh, drove the usurper and her followers from the lush labyrinth and far away into the foul, nigh uninhabitable lands touched by plague magic. Her rule was over a now fractured clan, a group of dragons ill-suited for life in the Scarred Wasteland. And it’s up to her to make them strong enough to thrive.
