Lore WIP/outline: An accomplished explorer, he was brought to Primrose Manor to educate Azalea and the estate's young nobles about magical artifacts. Usually referred to as an archeologist; doesn't quite fit the exact qualifications for one, but accepts the title because it makes things easier. In truth, it's... a bit more complicated than that. notes: - Mother was a treasure hunter/archeologist who went missing after an expedition - Father once a respectable practitioner of magic; used to be close to Echo but became aloof to his son and actively discouraged him from picking up magic; Echo grew to hate him and left home once old enough - Tried to study magic on his own to spite his father, stealing his most prized tome from him before leaving; turns out his father had been trying to decrypt this mysterious book which has now become Echo's own personal mission - Echo eventually finds himself constantly dealing with strange magical dangers, though they suddenly stop after an incident curses Cardinal - Echo ends up inadvertently following in mother's footsteps, specifically hunting after magical items to study them himself; partially to see if he can undo curse and partially to hone his own magical skills. (This is why he goes by archeologist; it's easier, no need to explain reasoning) - He's made only the tiniest of progress; his coming to Primrose Manor is the result of Primrose herself promising to pull a few strings to help him find a means of undoing the curse in exchange for educating the inhabitants on his findings - He seems unapproachable but is really just thinking a lot; he's really weighed down by the mystery of the tome and how it probably brought about the dangers that pursued him - Despite all his years of studying, his own use of magic is... okay but unstable. Part of this is lack of formal training, other part is lack of confidence. He does not trust his own magical abilities - even his natural lightning magic - and uses (mostly concealed) voltaic claws to reliably channel electricity for emergency combat.

Relationships Cardinal (WIP) (Echo cares very deeply for Cardinal; he did his best to encourage and teach Echo the things he knew about magic. He might've been a bit awkward in other matters, but Echo appreciated it. When Cardinal protected him from a curse, Echo was devastated. He managed to contain/slow it but the fix is temporary; since then, he's dedicated all the time that he could to finding a means of breaking the curse.) Primrose (WIP) (Likely in her debt... or perhaps the other way around, since she promised to help him find someone to undo Cardinal's curse that he and many others haven't been able to undo. He's a bit wary; Primrose might've even offered this chance before but Echo wanted to exhaust all of his options first)

Azalea
(WIP) (Echo struggles with teaching her because Azalea is probably off put by his aloof attitude; its hard to ask questions to someone who just seems to be disinterested/distracted all the time. Third party shenanigans via Echo's (non cursed) friend Veil ensue and this eventually leads to Azalea developing feelings for him. Echo himself is slow on the uptake or completely oblivious due to still being more occupied by his research to undo Cardinal's curse)


Eon
(WIP) (The two both specialize in the study of magical/haunted/cursed items, but Echo probably dislikes Eon. Likely sees him as arrogant and insufferable while Eon probably looks down upon Echo, thinking of him as an amateur. Eon probably also takes it as an insult that said amateur was brought aboard to teach when Eon's much more knowledgeable, though Primrose points out that Eon had refused to teach in the first place due to it being a "waste of time.")
