Rarity was brought to this clan by the suffering of Amarinth.
Her parents had told her all about what she was, a Radiant Friend, the tradition she upheld, and how she would one day leave her nest and find someone incomplete, another dragon to help, and fix. She wasn't sure if she could be trusted with such a responsibility, but sure enough, her feet grew restless, and without waiting for adulthood to find her, she followed a string that had been tugging on her heart.
It felt raw, aching, she was taken aback by how powerful it was. How could anyone feel so hollow? It made her want to cry, but she blinked back tears, wandering a far, far way, leaving the shores behind her, crossing through glades of light and decayed ruins, into a very dark place.
The rawness felt more plausible, somehow, as she trekked through the dark brambles and ruins, this place seemed so desolate.
She stumbled into a camp, full of sleeping dragons. The lookout side-eyed her passively, as if debating if a hatching was really all that worth getting up for.
Warily, Rarity pushed past her, moving into the camp, the string pulling her along into one of the nests.
And there she saw Amarinth.
Sleeping in a moonbeam, his face softly lit by the nearby mushrooms. She bit her lip.
This was the one who called her.
Silently, she curled up next to him, dwarfed by his adult body.
His face seemed to relax in his sleep. She could only hope he wouldn't be too weirded out when he woke.
After all, she was here to help.
