Representatives from other clans began to enter.
“Great,” Bud thought. “Here come the vultures already.”
The meeting where the clanleaders announced the disbanding of the clan had only
ended five minutes previous.
“They must have sent word out to all of Dragonhome before deeming to inform the ones most affected by their decision - us.”
Well, he was not going to beg or sell himself to some other clan.
This clan, his birth clan is all he has known. He is a fighter/mage one of the three highest level fighters in the clan.
He moved away from the chaos.
He moved to a spot where he would just let himself out and away once the commotion died down.
However, a dark colored wildclaw moved quickly to be near to him, just short of intruding in on Bud’s private space.
“This him Thari?” He had looked back and addressed a female Coatl, also dark colored.
She nodded, “Yes, we were told he is our most likely candidate,”
“Great,” Then back to Bud, with a nod bow, “Forgive us, we know this is - awkward.

“Hello! good fellow!” The Imperial smiled and clasped Bud on the shoulder. Bud recoiled from the unexpected closeness. “I’m Chennault,” The Imperial continued either not noticing or not caring about Bud’s discomfort. “ Really, good to meet you. we've heard...”
Grayswandir redirected Chennault, while Thari quietly spoke, “Sorry, Chennault can be a bit - well gregarious.”
“Friendly, social.” Chennault defined, loudly.
“Obnoxious.” Grayswandir added with a teasing smile. Chennault faked a hurt look.
Thari also smiled, then “We,” She indicated Chennault and herself. “Understand what you’re going through.”
“Really? How could you possibly.” Bud answered angrily.
Thari ignored the anger and continued. “ Chennault awoke in a lair that and gone into hibernation - without informing the clan at large. He woke up and left. He was upset,” she smiled at him. “ As you can imagine. He had heard about us and came looking for us. Once we heard his story, we welcomed him to see if it would be an acceptable arrangement for us to unite. After a short while, Chennault officially joined with our Clan. I,” She hesitated, “I am from a clan break up myself.” She looked around at the frightened faces.
“I’ve been right where you stand." She paused to let her words sink in, then, "We are not a large Clan. We are a battle ready clan. We look for and invite only top candidates. Not because others are not worthy, we just don’t have a lot of space on our island. We have heard from your elders of your training. You are proud. I know.
But, we would like you to consider Clan Inverness as an option."
Bud looked around, sighed, and then nodded. “I will go with you.”
He never looked back to his birthplace.
Bud has taken the name of Cayuga, the name of the small tribe of friendly Dunhooves with whom he studied beast-clan magic. Because of his experience with the centaurs, Cayuga has been assigned the command of the allied centaur troops on Lulungomeena.
Schwa, the closest dunhoof friend of Cayuga , accompanied him to Lulungomeena. No one outside of Zorast are aware that their friendship is more than casual. Both Cayuga and Schwa are actively looking for a spell, scroll or potion that will transform for her into dragonkind.
