Biography
Participated "The Cusp of Plague and Arcane" led by Ecxcabre
Born in the frigid wasteland of the Snowsquall Tundra, Adonis has never quite fit in. He spent his young life being isolated by his peers because of his beaming curiosity. While he took an interest in fossilized items like his brothers and sisters, they condemned him for "playing" with them too often. His parents saw no future for him under the cold Icewarden, and when he was big enough to catch rabbits and lemmings on his own, they sent him out into the cold with little more than a pouch to carry his tools. They said it was for the best, and in some ways the young wildclaw agreed.
He spent the next few years trekking through the snow and relocating camp from glacier to glacier on a quest for knowledge. At times, he would gather in with other clans that were welcoming, but he often found himself overwhelmed. Since he had been so isolated, he never had the chance to meet many large dragons and found himself uncomfortable around and fascinated by imperials, guardians, and ridgebacks. Mostly, he was terribly intimidated by these neighboring camps, and ended up sneaking out during the night after heating up with warm grub.
Eventually, he found himself in warmer territory. His claws tapped upon ice and snow until he began to feel warm earth beneath him. Without warning, he found himself surrounded by an endless stream of forestry and life. Never in his life had he felt so relieved that he began to collapse and kiss the ground until this moment. His frostbitten body was finally healing, and he just knew he would find a home somewhere soon.
One day, he was attempting to fill fossilized trilobite from his homeland with the humming power from some local relics when a large shadow appeared over him. He had set up camp several weeks ago without being bothered, so why would he be ambushed now? Fumbling with his artifacts, Adonis slid away from the growing shadow and crouched into a strong defensive stance. He had had to defend himself before, thankfully from creatures close to his size, but he realized he was in deeper than he thought. A large ridgeback lurked over him with a devious smile on it's face.
"A treat, for me I presume...?" his combatant asked with a deep, shady voice. The dragon's dark, violet eyes revealed it's dedication to the Shadowbinder, which only made Adonis more nervous. Where could he run? How will he ever escape? Thoughts clouded his mind as he frantically shifted his eyes behind the goggles he constructed a few weeks ago. His feet moved slowly, backing up as he calculated his options as calmly as possible.
A large grunt came from the ridgeback as it plunged towards Adonis. With little time to react, he crouched low to avoid the villain's spines, but only avoided damaging his face. His leg was sliced against the dragon's large feet, causing him to wheeze out in pain. As a last resort, he tossed his food stores as far away from his crippled body as possible, hoping to lure the fiend away. Blood was dripping from his thigh, caked in dirt and disease from the uncleanly foe and lively land. His vision was faint, but he could see that the large menace fell for his distraction, and he pulled his weak body as far away as possible as his eyes finally fell to full darkness.
The next morning, his surrounding were unlike anything he had seen before. The sound of crisp water dripping onto rocks repeated in his head until his vision began to return to him. A distant light fell into his line of sight, and he saw another large shadow above him, much like the one that had brutally attacked him.
"No... No, please leave me alone..." he muttered under his breath as his brain rattled around in his aching head. For a moment he began to accept that he would never find a home, and that his final purpose would be to feed a pack of savages. He shook with anxiety and fear as his breath quickened. "Leave me alone..." he whimpered. It was over for him and he knew it. The light refracted across his bare eyes, burning his sensitive pupils. At least he felt no pain in his leg anymore. Soon he would feel nothing at all.
"I am not here to hurt you," a low, cool voice called out to him, "I healed your wound as best as I could manage. You will be okay." He felt something he had not felt in a long time. Usually when he was guaranteed safety in the Southern Icefields, it was an empty promise. In this moment, however, there seemed to be some sort of genuine tone within the speaker. He brought forth the strength to open his pale eyes, but what he found surprised him. A large, clothed guardian sat above him, towering over his comparatively tiny body. She must have been more than twice his size, and yet he felt no anxiety before her. She introduced herself as Fountain, the clan's matriarch and healer. He introduced himself with no hesitation. He had a feeling he had finally found his home.
Years passed, and he spent them dedicated to mapping the many regions he visited, collecting artifacts to construct into tools, and practicing his combat skills to ensure the protection of his neighbors. The cave he called home became a beacon of knowledge, experimentation, and opportunity. When a young wildclaw, much like himself, was discovered on one of his hunts, he took the young boy in and raised him to be inquisitive. He named him Leonardo for the similarities that his skin bore to a fierce lion. He found deep bonds with him, and started taking him out on hunts with him. Eventually, the two also took in another curious companion. She was a coatl named Aviana, and Adonis trained her to be just as fierce as Leonardo and himself.
Today, the hunter-gatherer's call themselves A.L.A. and they bring back hoards of knowledge for the rest of the clan.
