As the son of a flight ambassador, Malbec is no stranger to the finer things in life. Though his parents were in and out of his life, they made sure he did not want for anything. He was well-taken care of by nannies who draped him in silks and gave him expensive trinkets to play with alongside their own children.
Upon entering his teens and thus allowed more freedom, he began exploring the town and became very interested in the underground music scene - more importantly, interested in the lack of available venues for said scenes. Malbec and his friends frequently met up under bridges, in abandoned dens, out in the middle of the woods, anywhere they could party on without scrutiny. These memories helped cement a vision in his mind of a nightclub, complete with moody lighting and musicians of all varieties, with talented bartenders creating luscious drinks with ingredients from both near and far.

Malbec put his visions into action with the Birchlight, a sprawling lounge large enough to encompass several imperials or guardians at once - magically sung into an ancient and massive birch tree so as to not harm the tree and allow it to continue thriving. Several floors spiral up to a sturdy, reinforced platform hidden in the leaves of the canopy. At the very middle of the platform is a masterfully crafted gazebo, where a welcoming and ever-glowing fire billows: the very light that gives the Birchlight its name. The flames periodically change colour depending on the mood of the lounge, or during certain parties or festivals.



Malbec is outgoing, flirtatious, and charming, as well as professional and pragmatic. Underneath the flashy exterior lies an intelligent business curator, but he does a good job of hiding it, preferring to go all out to keep up appearances. He makes "friends", aka close acquaintances, very easily. Most of them are positive, and even beneficial to both parties, but he has several frenemies as well. He is known for being an information broker in addition to his duties at the Birchlight and so naturally winning and losing friends is a part of the job.
Despite his charisma, Malbec is a rather flaky dragon. He's very personable and good with both customers and friends alike, but he keeps his actual circle extraordinarily tight. Few acquaintances are safe from gossip or canceled plans and he can be rather fussy.



Abilities: Particularly skilled with manipulation of light particles, specifically colour and shapes. Able to warp how the very air is perceived by the viewer, most often appearing as clouds of all shades of the rainbow, but can be used offensively to blind enemies or cloak allies. His main use for this, naturally, is his job as owner and entertainer - he sets the tone of the night at the Birchlight, and his lightshows fascinate all types of crowds.
