Before Fell came, Spire served as the town's Light priest. Unlike her he never went to Radiance to study; he was simply taught in the way of the priests of the region before him. She openly dislikes him for allowing the teachings to fall so far and his neglect of their Lady's sanctuaries, but can't bring herself to send him away. He clearly does love the Light, so she believes this to be the most merciful path and hopes that perhaps being shown the correct way will help him.

One day as he was walking along the lake shore he found himself staring at the sunlight rippling across the water, fascinated by the way it moved and how the reflection played across his hide. Afterwards he started coming back to stare at the sun and water day after day for so long that the townsfolk fear that he must have gone blind, but are afraid to approach and find out. He still preaches about the Light to those who will listen, but prefers to do on the shore, and his sermons have taken a rambling, inconsistent, fanatical tone. The lap of the waves gives him comfort and he prefers to sleep in hollows in the sand rather than his long-abandoned home. The cold does not bother him due to his ice heritage.

Despite being raised in the town and familiar to the other residents, he does not seem to recall them much at all anymore, very rarely ever using their names. When left on his own he can be heard constantly muttering to himself, and those who listen close may hear him spewing out a resemblance of prophesies.
