Hel
The "Bone-Chimer" is the resident demon and bogeyman of Shardik, and never has Sornieth before borne witness to such a nightmare. For the monster snatches children from their nests in the dead of night, dragging them away never to be seen or heard from again. Or so Alack tells the hatchlings in his care in order to scare them into behaving. In truth, the dreaded "Bone-Chimer" -- or Hel, as most know her -- is only a reclusive and soft-spoken imperial. Moreover, her duties involve less the snatching of hatchlings and more the tending of the deceased. Whenever a resident of the clan passes into the next life, she works with Bah and Kah to give the late dragon proper funerary rites. The act of cremation falls to Hel herself, razing the body to cinders before scattering the ashes across the territory. Over the years, the practice has bleached entire swatches of her wings and mane a permanent white. Strung upon her wings are draconic, skeletal remains. Each piece chimes in memory of her late but no less beloved clanmates, thus earning her the solemn epithet of "Bone-Chimer." Her mate is Kiwikwii of Clan Vanadium, and her familiar is Strix the Banded Owlcat.
