Azucar
Ice-Hearted Healer

Azucar doesn't really understand most other dragons. The care and support they show one another simply seems like so much effort for little to no reward in most cases. While he's not ungrateful when given help and won't typically leave another dragon to die or the like, he usually won't go out of his way to help others and doesn't expect others to do so for him. They're all simply trying to survive, aren't they? And if you can't sustain yourself, your weakness will catch up to you eventually.

Meeting Irania didn't change that outlook. Azucar's wandering had led him to Shadow territory, where he got in a rough fight with another dragon. He came out far better than the other party, and was tending his own wounds when he witnessed Irania assisting his former opponent. He didn't understand it, really. The other dragon was a bit of a jerk, being rude to her despite her making quite the effort to help, not that she seemed to mind overmuch. When she was done with the other dragon, Irania then approached Azucar, offering some sort of plant that would supposedly help with his wounds. Azucar declined, since he'd already bandaged himself up, but the encounter seemed to stick in his mind for some reason.

It was in stumbling into one another a few more times that Azucar realized what had caught his attention so much. He watched Irania assist others, frequently using things like herbs and magic to mend their wounds or ease their other ills. Azucar knew how to wrap up wounds and such, but he hadn't known there was much one could do for injuries and sickness beyond basic first aid. The way someone with proper knowledge could beneficially manipulate bodies and life was utterly fascinating to Azucar, and it wasn't long before he approached Irania in hopes to learn more, offering his services as a fighter or hunter in exchange.

It was quite a surprise to Irania, but she got the sense that, despite his callousness, Azucar wasn't the bad sort. He just wasn't able to connect to others very well, and there wasn't anything evil about that. If he wanted to learn to heal, then why not allow him to? Help was help, regardless of motive. Bloodbolt had less confidence in the matter, but didn't feel it fair to shut Azucar out when he hadn't actually done anything wrong. So Azucar joined their clan, primarily hunting for them in exchange for learning from and with Irania. His fascination with the healing arts has only grown with time, and while his bedside manner could certainly use some work, he's grown into a very skilled healer who won't hesitate in dealing with even the most gruesome injuries.
