Naming herself after her favourite type of flower, Jonquil first developed her spiritual abilities at a young age, able to communicate happily with what she saw as her friends (and what other, slightly more alarmed dragons realised were ghosts and spirits). Once she learned the truth of her abilities, she found a teacher, learning to refine her skills and to gently help her friends to move on and find peace.
Jonquil has known of the Golden Canopy Clan for a long time, living reasonably close to them in the Shrieking Wilds. When they left for some time to explore the Starfall Isles and then the Windswept Plateau, she kept up a correspondence with the clan's seer, Leyla. Over time, they began developing feelings for each other, and Jonquil eventually departed for the Windswept Plateau to be with her, for the few months before the clan would move back to the Viridian Labyrinth. Now inseparable, she and Leyla are learning how to work together as a couple as well as friends, and the pair could not be happier.
