The dreamy Ridgeback was discovered by Demesne dragons as they visited an allied clan. They found a very young hatchling, terrified and alone in the depths of the Shrieking Wilds. She fled from them when she heard their approach, but went to them willingly once she saw who they were. This caused them to believe that she had been snatched from her clan by malefactors and escaped, and attempted to return her to her home. The little hatchling was unable to tell them where she'd come from, and none of the clans they came across knew her or where she might have come from. They were unable to find her home and, as they could not simply dump such a young dragonet with just anyone, took her back to their own lair where they knew she'd be safe.

Caelia seemed strange from the start; absentminded but oddly insightful, unnervingly serene- even cheerful- no matter what the occasion, and possessed of the preternatural ability to always foretell the day's weather accurately. It is rumored by some that the gossamer feathers in her headdress and bracelets are more than just decoration. She's very friendly, but one gets the impression that she is not entirely there no matter how engaged she seems, as if she always has one foot in another world, seeing and listening to things others are unaware of. Like Cigyun, she can feel and tap into the wild magic around her, leading her Guardian friend to wonder if Caelia is perhaps a fellow descendant of Sornieth's elusive fair folk. While she's not Cigyun's charge, the older dragon is very protective of her uncanny kin.

She has an aptitude for art, so in addition to serving as the clan's weatherwoman, she also assists Khozen as he records the clan's history by augmenting them with illustrations. Somehow, she's managed to befriend a Marshland Poodle Mith, a sensible fellow from the swamps of the Plague-Earth border. When she gets the chance Caelia loves to go off and visit her very fluffy friend, who shares her fondness for exploring and discovering new places. Their contrasting personalities cause them to get up to all sorts of misadventures.
