Biography

The Circle must continue.

In the beginning, there was only them. They two, she of Harmony and he of Discord, fashioned the ceaseless Void into stars, into sea, into suns and moons and planets.

First they fashioned children individually, peopling their planets with their own creations. Later, they worked together, creating new, amalgamated and unique children.

The Circle always continued, as it always must. The two gods who ruled absolute over the universe acknowledged each other, held no ill will towards the other (though occasionally they questioned the other's creation).

But then. Then, one day, the Circle slowed, before stopping with a mighty creak. Chaos had gained the upper hand in a supposedly ceaseless cycle, and Discord ruled the many planets they created.

So, as was necessary, Cosmos brought forth four Warriors of Light. Working together, they beat back Chaos's underlings and restored Harmony to their land, and to all lands.

And the Circle resumed its turning, and all was in balance.

Much later, crisis after crisis after final apocalyptic Crisis led the two gods to mutually agree to destroy the universe they had created and create a new one. And so reality was unwound, and the dying screams of millions of life forms were silenced, as those former lives became part of the new tapestry of the universe.

This universe, even from the start, was different from the first. Planets were different, inhabitants were different, solar systems were different. And yet, not so different. The people were almost recognizable, and solar systems were found scattered across each other. Cosmos and Chaos were slightly different, but not much. The Circle remained the same.

On one eventful occasion, one of Chaos's creations, JENOVA, found it's way to one of Cosmos' planets. The resulting crisis nearly resulted in the destruction of the planet; however, heroes of Light came forth to stop it.

It would have been no great loss, as Cosmos had infinite other planets. Destruction was part of the Circle, as well as creation.

This time, when the Circle came to a halt, Cosmos found herself the one imbalancing the scale. Too much Harmony was in play in the universe, and all was stagnant.

Chaos chose a single Black Knight, infusing the creation with some of his own power. And the Black Knight restored balance to the universe, by destroying what Cosmos had created again and again and again.

And the Circle resumed its turning, and all was in balance.

A second Apocalypse happened soon after. The Circle began turning faster and faster, creation and destruction and Discord and Harmony blending into a single, wailing confusion. Horrified, the two gods used all of their power together to destroy this universe, unmaking it until not a single atom remained of their latest creation.

The two gods rested then, with only the ceaseless Void as witness to the terror that had taken place, and had subsequently been erased from existing.

The Circle slowed, with no more momentum to keep it turning, and finally stopped once more.

But with no universe to control, no existence to be imbalanced, it did not matter, and Cosmos and Chaos could merely mingle, balanced in every aspect by each other.

When Cosmos and Chaos finally decided to build a third universe, it was from the beginning similar to their other universes. Biological life flourished, as it always did.

And the Circle began to turn once more, cycling through the seasons of Harmony and the seasons of Discord.

Cosmos and Chaos were changed, but not unrecognizable. They now looked in form more similar to each other than at any time previously, but were still the vast counters to each other they had always been.

And the Circle still continues.
