Lucretius has been a wanderer for a very long time, having been cast out of his original home for practicing immoral and dark magic that is highly frowned upon in most clans. Bringing life to the inanimate and mind controlling dragons against their will were among the things that caused him to be ostracized and exiled. On top of just practicing it, Lucretius would use this magic for his own benefit without thinking of others, viewing other dragons as his mere playthings to test his spells on and generally having little compassion for others. As such, he found himself alone, left to stew and scheme in the depths of the Tangled Wood. At one point he brought life to a statue he found and tried to get the dragon that resulted to do his bidding, but she instead abandoned him, refusing to be used by him.

Overtime, overuse of this dark and destructive magic slowly ate away at Lucretius, rotting at his soul and robbing him even more of his sense of right and wrong. In a horrific attempt to preserve his soul just a little longer, Lucretius manipulated a dragon named Pigeon, into traveling with him under the guise of honing the Pearlcatcher’s weak magic. In reality, Lucretius trapped Pigeon in a spell that bound their souls together; any sort of wear that Lucretius’s soul and body would take from his dark magic use would instead be implanted onto Pigeon, as well as binding the two together so that Pigeon would be forced to travel with him. Lucretius now travels alone with his unwilling companion, looking for ways to further strengthen and enhance his evil sorcery.
