A seemingly quiet dragon, Darius maintains the forge very deep in the underground of the Snowfall Cavern where even the snow and puffs of icy cold wind can't reach. Most of the clan member's don't bother to venture down to him - the heat is not to their liking - but those that do take time find a kind-hearted Coatl constantly tending to the flames and occasionally swimming in magma. He was the color of dancing flames with patterns that were swirling across his body like the shadows of said flames. His amber eyes were reminiscent of burning hot lava, always continuing to shimmer with great cheer and his determination towards a more beautiful future. He adorned himself with his own creations, plates of steel and chains on his wings, not only to protect himself, but to show how far he's come as a blacksmith and show off his work. He was never shy when it came to showing off his work and always had gems or treasure in his pocket to spend because of it. No more were the days of growing up hungry and alone...


He has been a member of the clan since just before the end of the great and terrible dragon wars. He was recruited by Asterion when he was just a hatchling who was forced from his family when times got hard and money was scarce. He liked to observe others, always interested in how other's do the same tasks differently. Thankfully he watched his father, who was a blacksmith, long enough to know how to work a forge. His mother was an enchantress who would whisper incanations on his father's armor's and weapon's that he'd craft to power them up further, but sadly she kept her work very private and Darius didn't learn the craft since it's a skill that not many people have and enchantresses were captured and forced to work for their whole lives. She always said that it wasn't a skill that should be passed down and whoever would learn it would be cursed for life, a double-edged sword, if you will.


Darius wasn't the best blacksmith at first. To be honest, he was actually very terrible and couldn't forge hardly anything to save his tail. Bent blades, blades that snapped in half, armor with dents in it or that would shatter as soon as a sword hit them was his first works. Slowly, with the coaching and expertise of the dragon of death in the clan, Executioner, he learned how to craft swords better. He learned how to make swords of all caliber from the ancient spiral whispering tales of epic battles in vivid detail that was almost... bonechilling. Darius too the ancient Spiral's advice and continued to forge until he was the best in the region. Dragons from all over would beg and plead with him to craft them something, but he refused most requests given to him. He helped those who were poor or in need of protection more than those who wanted a pretty sword to show off. He was one of those dragons at one point in his life, after all... It was not only steel and his future he forged, but the steps to the grand days that laid before his comrades.
