Dragon Log
She came to the Clan by way of a rather startling sequence of Events, when she stayed as a Guest for a time in the Teeka Clan. Having lost her mate during a journey from the Sea of 1,000 Currents to the Scarred Wasteland, Amara was in a bad way when she arrived at the Plague Clan run by Anthrax. She was carrying eggs for a mate who no longer existed, and was terrified at the thought of how her Water-inclined offspring would fare in a land bound to Plague magic, with no father to help ground them. Fortunately, AquaRegia was visiting that Plague Clan at the time, and he was able to create a potion that linked his own magic to the eggs, so that when the hatchlings were born their magic was grounded to him, rather than to their lost father. As a result, they survived both their hatching and their time in the Abiding Boneyard. Grateful for Aqua’s help, Amara began to spend a great deal of time around him. This was actively encouraged by Anthrax, though neither Water dragon really knew why…
…But in the end, much to Amara and Aqua’s shock, they ended up not with 3 hatchlings between them, but 17! Amara cannot remember the sequence of events that led to this very clearly, but she is very happy to have so many new children. The hatchlings themselves did not stay in Plague long, as they were all drawn to the magic of their parents far more than to that of Plague. Two of them, a daughter from the first group of three, and Amara’s firstborn son by Aqua, have settled in their father’s Clan. The other 15 all traveled to Amara’s former Clan, and started to make a home for themselves there. In the meantime, Aqua and Amara met many friends in Anthrax’s Clan, and had a wonderful time learning all about life on the edge of the Abiding Boneyard. Eventually, however, Aqua began to think it was time to go home, and he invited Amara back to his Clan, where she was quickly accepted by most--though not all--of his fellow Clanmates…
5-23-20: Amara is a little overwhelmed. She has only been in her new Clan for less than a day, and already a great deal has happened. The friendly greeting by the Clan Mother was as unexpected as the angry glare from Aqua’s “brother” Verdigris. But perhaps oddest of all was the reaction of the mentor for Amara’s daughter Vitriola: Nebula took one look at Amara and Aqua, and actually started growling. The next thing Amara knew she and AquaRegia had been dragged off to a new cave, where a very agitated Coatl, calling himself Spinel, fed her a strange potion. Now her head is pounding, there is an odd taste on her tongue, and she is beginning to remember why she prefers to avoid healers…
…But at least she has some very good company while she waits for whatever was in her system that caused so much fury among her new Clanmates to flush out of her. A Silver Kitsune has curled up beside her and refuses to leave, and a strange yellow creature has promised to strike anyone who tries to “poison” her again. For some reason, both “Diana” and “Protectora” are convinced that Amara was tricked somehow, and they are determined that it won’t happen again. Amara cannot understand why they are so upset. She feels absolutely fine. Although she does wonder where AquaRegia wandered off to…
5-24-20: Love Potion. Somehow, someway, she and AquaRegia had been fed a Love Potion. Or at least a strange concoction that caused amorous tendencies. That’s why they had so many hatchlings together. This is a disaster! Will Aqua even want anything to do with her now? And what about her hatchlings? What can she do? How can she convince anyone that she wasn’t responsible for this? Its not like she’s well known here…
5-26-20: Amara is stunned. She was curled up in the Healerie, feeling absolutely miserable, when a polite cough caused her to look up and see the last dragon she ever expected to come visit her: Cadmia, Aqua’s true mate. Even more incredibly, Cadmia wanted to know why her “sister-mate” was still in the Healerie, and hadn’t come “home.” It seems that Cadmia does not blame Amara after all…and neither, if she is to be believed, does Aqua. Can Amara trust this? She wants to believe, but it seems too good to be true…
6-1-20: Cadmia has continued to visit, coming to see Amara in the Healerie every single day without fail. She has told Amara quite a few stories about the Clan, as well as a number of stories about her birth Clan--which just so happens to be the Clan that Amara met AquaRegia in. Amara has a much better understanding of what happened, now. If she ever sees Anthrax, BaradMorn, and Orchid again she might just be guilty of starting an inter-Clan war…
…But in the meantime, she is now certain that the Clan--and most importantly her dear friend Cadmia--does not blame her for this situation. And after all, her beautiful daughter Vitriola and wonderful son AurumFulminans would never have had a chance to exist if not for that potion. And the Clan is clearly very fond of both Amara’s remaining children. So perhaps it all worked out for the best in the end…
6-2-20: Aqua came with Cadmia to the Healerie today. Amara is still reeling from the suggestion they made, but she can’t deny that she would very much like to continue to be a part of Aqua’s life, and she is already thinking of Cadmia as a sister. Maybe this really could work…
6-3-20: Amara has moved into the Potions Cave. She is not sure yet that she will stay there, but for the time being she is willing to give Cadmia’s suggestion a try. And perhaps she can get to know her hatchlings a little better while she is here…and maybe even convince Verdigris to stop fussing so much. While she appreciates the fact that Aqua’s “brother” no longer wants to hurt her for her accidental “stealing” of AquaRegia from Cadmia, she isn’t sure that his sudden protectiveness towards her is really an improvement on the situation. Maybe she could ask the Clan Mother to intercede? Or perhaps Cadmia could convince him to back off…
6-10-20: Amara is still adjusting to life in her new Clan. She is enjoying the Potions Cave a great deal, and may well stay here after all…though she is finding herself drawn to the Planetarium, as well. Perhaps she could explore the idea of how potions can be affected by the Moon’s phases? And perhaps if she spends enough time moving between the Planetarium and the Potions Cave, Verdigris will decide she doesn’t need to be protected anymore. It’s worth a try…
6-14-20: Time goes on, and no one knows this better than Amara, who has watched quite a few hatchlings grow and change over the seasons of her life. She has gotten used to the idea that her children will move on eventually, but she does sometimes wonder what they are up to--which is why Vitriola and AurumFulminans are such a delight to her. Having her daughter and son present in the same Clan she has settled in is a wonderful change, and Amara is thoroughly enjoying watching them develop. And today, Vitriola gave her a gift beyond price: It seems that Amra’s daughter managed, some time ago, to develop a potion that enables to her to “see” her family when she wishes to. The inventive young Bogsneak used it some time again to witness Numeria joining the ranks of the Tidelord, and now she has used it again, to check up on all her siblings, and she shared her discoveries with her parents.
Amara is not sure what to make of her daughter Loki becoming a Spiral, but at least the young dragon seems happy in her chosen Clan. And the pretty Nocturne’s youngest son is definitely well settled now, with a strong name (Skyquake), a friendly Clan, and even a new devoted “brother”! Amara could not be happier for him…and she is delighted to know that many of her other children have chosen names for themselves at last. Perhaps now they will begin to seek out their own unique destinies, in the greater world…or perhaps not. Either way, they are clearly happy with the choices they have made, and that is all that really matters. Now if only Aurum would stop experimenting with so many dangerous concoctions, Amara would be completely content…
6-18-20: While AurumFulminans does not seem to be interested in stopping his dangerous experiments any time soon, Amara’s hopes that her sons and daughters with AquaRegia would eventually seek out their won destines have certainly come to pass, much quicker than she expected: Vitriola informed Amara only today that all but Loki and Skyquake--and of course Aurum and Vitiriola herself--have decided to serve the Lightweaver! While stunned about this sudden change of fortune for so many of her youngest children, Amara cannot help but be proud of all of them…
8-19-20: Diana has Awakened! Amara was quite surprised when Cadmia and Aqua joined her in celebrating the Silver Kitsune's achievement. Apparently, her new Clan is very interested in the maturity of all their familiars. Diana herself seems extremely pleased, though Amara isn't sure what to make of the kitsune's statement that now she is strong enough to punish any who try to trick such a sweet, innocent soul like Amara's again...
