Agatha was grounded in the world by her surroundings. Her living space was filled with parchments of pressed flowers, sketches of different plants from all over Sornieth, piles and piles of notes on every detail imaginable to feed her insatiable drive for knowledge; but knowledge wasn’t enough. Application is where true knowledge shined.

Everything started with an idea. From there, anecdotes turned into experiments, solidifying facts. So many variables to try and so many factors to account for. It kept her mind sharp despite the age wearing on her bones. She may have given up her travels, but Dragonhome had given her a gift in finding the grotto. Close enough to the surface she could warm her bones in the sun, but the damp, water clinging caves gave her ample moisture to grow what wouldn’t survive in hard dry soil.

What Agatha didn’t expect was to find helpers for her research in the grotto. The more plants she grew, the more frogs and salamanders seemed to gravitate towards her. They kept flying insects from derailing her train of thought, and the plants safe from hungry mouths. On days full of frustration, their constant presence and gentle croaks comforted her. It became hard to remember how she got through those days before finding her new friends.

The grotto and her menagerie of amphibians were home and Agatha would care for those who dwelled within it however she could.
