Clan Superlative: Still afraid of the dark

Norman is an off-putting individual and most dragons stay far from him, which is the reason his role in the clan became sentry. When someone approaches the clan, Norman's scarlet plumage bristles, and the stripes on his back stand on end, which is often plenty of warning for any careless wanderers. Those that dare come any closer are stricken with a supernatural fear and are paralyzed by it for a moment before turning around and going back to where they came from.

No one really knows where Norman came from; he kind of just wandered in with bandages on his hands and neck, bandages smeared with blood, blood that slipped into the trenches between his claws and dripped off his nails. It was a terrible, terrible amount of blood. His crown-feathers drooped, his amethyst eyes were blurred by confusion, and his speech was erratic. Fearing that he was gravely hurt, the others in the clan adopted him and cleaned him up. He was overwhelmingly thankful and insisted that he repay the favor he owed them, and, despite much contrary chatter, the clan accepted his offer. And despite his distanced demeanor, he is surprisingly helpful around the lair--incredibly efficient at cooking and cleaning.
