The last child of Nemarr and Seranida, Mikhail is one of the few dragons in Gypsum who was born and raised in the clan. Though his parents raised him with the intention of allowing him and his sister Serenade to accompany them on their long sales excursions, Mikhail ended up remaining with the clan according to his own wishes. He holds a deep-set and well hidden guilt about the accident which took his parents lives, feeling often as if his presence might have made a difference.

Though Mikhail's past optimism has melted away thanks to his heavy loss, the Ridgeback's kind nature perseveres, covering the pain he feels beneath a layer of good will.

He trains as an apprentice under Adramalech. Their relationship is awkward at it's finest, as the imperial honestly doesn't feel like the ridgeback is suited to a warrior lifestyle, and Mikhail doesn't respect Adramalech's attitude and unnecessary pomp.
